About the Artist Kasia Barbara Turajczyk
Who I am?
My name is Kasia Basia Turajczyk, I am an
artist, a poet and a dreamer.
I believe that we are here on this planet to be happy and free
and our duty is to be happy and free, to love, and to be loved.
And I also believe that creation and art’s spirit thrive on
freedom and independence of the individual person.
When placed in a cage it withers and
dies.
I started painting and drawing as a
child. At the age of thirteen I started taking art
classes and training. Two years later I sold my first
painting. I also wrote poems and short plays for my high
school/college cabaret.
I studied art at private ateliers in Lodz in Poland and in
Vienna in Austria.
I also have a university degree in Slavic languages and
literature, which I obtained in Lodz and Amsterdam. I have also
studied Philosophy at University in Lodz, Poland and management
Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
Besides painting and writing, I worked as a freelance advisor
for non-profit organisations in the Netherlands and in other
countries.
However, from 2003 I have spent most of my time painting and
writing, and I regularly publish my poems (several radio
interviews and own poetry readings).
I am a member of the BBK in the Netherlands. (Professional
Union for Visual Artists.), and I am a member of a poetry
society ‘Anex’ in Poland.
Most paintings I have sold via private networks and to
order.
